We strongly believe in a team-based approach to health and wellness. When you enter our clinic you will be welcomed by our kind and efficient Medical Office Assistants (MOAs). You will get to know our nurses, Nurse Practitioners (NPs), and Physician Assistants (PAs). We also work closely with a Social Worker, a Psychologist, and a Dietician. Below you can meet our physicians and PA/NP team.

Dr. Medini Vazé (she/her)

Dr. Vazé is the Mosaic Medical Clinic’s LMG Physician Lead. She completed medical school at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, B.C., her hometown. She went on to do her residency in Family Medicine and Fellowship in Low-Risk Obstetrics at the University of Toronto and has been practicing in Calgary since 2006. Dr. Vazé is passionate about Women's Health and Inner City Health and caring for marginalized/vulnerable populations. She enjoys working in northeast Calgary with patients from many different backgrounds and cultures from around the world. When she's not working, you can find her enjoying the outdoors with her husband, four kids, and dog.

Dr. Giselle DeVetten (she/her)

Dr. DeVetten was born and raised in Calgary, where she also completed her medical school and residency training. After residency, Dr. DeVetten studied tropical medicine at Cayetano Heredia University and currently works with refugees at the Mosaic Refugee Health Clinic in Calgary. She also works at The Alex Youth Health Centre providing care to at-risk youth. Outside of work, she is a loving mother and spouse and enjoys climbing, skiing, and walking her dog.

Dr. David Loewen (he/him)

Dr. Loewen graduated from medical school at the University of British Columbia in 2001 and finished his residency at the University of Calgary in 2003. He is one of the founding members of the Lougheed Maternity Group, which was established in 2003. He runs a Family Practice at Associate Clinic and has been there since 2005. He is a father of three, an avid mountaineer, cyclist, and skier.

Dr. Kathy Truong (she/her)


Dr. Kathy Truong was born and raised in Calgary. She completed her medical school and residency training at the University of Calgary. She has a strong interest in women and infants Health and has been practicing low risk obstetrics since 2014. She is also a Breastfeeding and Lactation Medicine physician and completed her IBCLC certification in 2022. She feels so privileged to be able to support families in pregnancy and beyond. She also practices full scope Family Medicine at West Springs Medical. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children.

Dr. Sarah Olesen (she/her)

Dr. Olesen was born and raised in Red Deer, Alberta. She completed an undergraduate degree in Chemistry at the University of Alberta, and then attended medical school at the University of Calgary, graduating in 2009. She finished her Rural Family Medicine residency through the University of Alberta in 2011. She has been working in low-risk obstetrics and women's health since 2012, and also enjoys her work as a Locum Family Physician. She practices Lactation Medicine and is currently working towards her IBCLC certification. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her two kids, her husband, and her cat, as well as camping, travelling, and cooking. She speaks French and has a black belt in Karate.

Dr. Diana Cunningham (she/her)

Dr. Cunningham was born and raised right here in Calgary. She completed medical school and Family Medicine residency through the University of Calgary and has been practicing low-risk obstetrics since 2012. She is passionate about caring for vulnerable or marginalized patients, and also works at a youth clinic and at a hospice. She loves delivering babies! When not working, Dr. Cunningham enjoys spending time with her partner and two children, or trying out new recipes in the kitchen.

Dr. Malgorzata (Mal) Ejsmont (she/her)

Dr. Ejsmont is originally from Poland but grew up in Alberta. She is a medical graduate from the University of Alberta and completed her residency training at the University of Calgary. She has been working in low-risk obstetrics since 2012 and also has a Family Medicine practice. When she's not working, travel and the outdoors are the biggest draws. Whether it's running, hiking, cross-country skiing, or snowboarding, she's grateful to be living so close to the Rockies.

Dr. Janelle Syring (she/her)

Dr. Syring is a Métis family doctor with roots in the Red River Settlement. She grew up on Treaty 1 territory and has been living in Mohkinstsis since 2018. Prior to entering medicine, Janelle worked as a physiotherapist and spent the last few years of her career as a pelvic floor physiotherapist. She graduated from the University of Calgary Cumming school of Medicine in 2019 and completed her residency training at the UBC Indigenous family medicine program in the downtown east side. She brings an intersectional feminist lens to her work which includes contraception and abortion care, full spectrum family medicine, low risk obstetrics and supporting people who use drugs. When she's not at work you can find Janelle with her husband chasing after her mischievous doodles at the dog park.

Dr. Siew-Wan Tan (she/her)

After receiving her black belt in martial arts, 'retiring' as a waitress at her family's restaurant, and obtaining a degree in Biological Sciences, Dr. Tan pursued a career in medicine. She received her medical degree from the University of Calgary and completed her residency at the University of Alberta. Dr. Tan has been practicing Family Medicine and Low-Risk Obstetrics in Calgary since 2005. She is honoured to care for her patients through all stages of life; she enjoys helping new moms and dads stay calm and relaxed as they navigate the unknowns of pregnancy and delivery. Outside of work, she enjoys dark chocolate and good bread. Outside of eating, she loves biking, travelling, and spending time with her husband and three children.

Dr. Virginia Clark (she/her)

Dr. Clark is a Family Physician practicing in Alberta and B.C. and works both rurally and in urban areas. She was a nurse prior to entering medicine and has been doing Low-Risk Obstetrics for 18 years. She has also provided Lactation Consultant Services since 2002. Dr. Clark teaches Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Advances in Labour and Risk Management (ALARM) and was on the National Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Canada (SOGC) Committee for six years, finishing in 2017. She is also on the SOGC Family Practice Review Committee and on the SHARE Committee. She is a mother and grandmother and is incredibly passionate about women's health.
